Summary: | In March 2018, we collected a 12 meter (m) permafrost core from Tuktoyaktuk Island, Northwest Territories, Canada, an area that has lost considerable coastline. Here, we archive downcore carbon characteristics (methane, total organic carbon and dissolved organic carbon concentrations). At four depths in the soil (~0.61 m, 1.52 m, 2.8 m, and 11.6 m), we also incubated the material under their thawed (+5°C and +15°C) and frozen (-20°C and -5°C) states to report methane and carbon dioxide cumulative production rates. |
