As part of the NIMS grid, white boards were nailed into the tundra to act as Ground Control Points (GCPs). The purpose of these boards was to facilitate the visibility of the grid from the aerial photographs, as well as to facilitate georeferencing using ArcMap GIS. Most of the pictures taken are high resolution although only a few are lacking good quality. The photographs are arranged according to flight date. The kite was flown about 2 times a week throughout June, July and August of summer 2011. Dataset Barrow Tundra Alaska DataCite Metadata Store (German National Library of Science and Technology) |
