Continuous Greenland Ice Sheet Project 2 glaciochemical measurements, Greenland Ice Sheet, 2019.

The overall goal of the project is to use sophisticated atmospheric models together with ice-core records the to improve understanding of variations in past climate, including during the last glacial period. To provide state-of-the-art aerosol and other ice-core records representative of the last gl...

To provide state-of-the-art aerosol and other ice-core records representative of the last glacial, continuous, high-depth-resolution measurements were made on ~104 meters(m) of archived Greenland Ice Sheet Project 2 (GISP2) ice spanning Dansgaard-Oeschger events 10, 11, 12. The measurements were made using the unique, well-established continuous ice core analytical system at the Desert Research Institute in Reno, Nevada (NV) during December, 2017, with data processing and strict quality control/quality assurance procedures completed in January, 2019. The analytical system consists of a broad range of instruments including two Element2, Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometers operating in parallel.
