Thule, Greenland, water vapor isotopes (δ18O, δ2H, d-excess) and meteorological data, August 2017 - August 2019

This dataset contains quality checked and calibrated water vapor isotopic ratios for oxygen (δ18O) and hydrogen (δ2H), as well as the secondary isotopic variable of deuterium-excess. The data were taken at Thule Air Base, Greenland, between August 2017 and August 2019, using a Picarro L-2130i cavity...

The data were taken at Thule Air Base, Greenland, between August 2017 and August 2019, using a Picarro L-2130i cavity ring-down spectroscopy isotope analyzer with Standards Delivery Module. Data here have been calibrated for machine accuracy and precision errors related to changing humidity values. Original measurements are made approximately 1 per second, and later aggregated into 10 minute, hourly, and daily means. Meteorological observations made at the SMT site of Thule Air Base and THU airport are also included here at 10 minute, hourly, and daily means. Full SMT meteorological data available at https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.895059. These data were collected to better understand the environmental controls on water isotopic variability in the High Arctic, including sea ice extent, synoptic moisture transport, and mesoscale winds. Thule is also part of the Arctic Water Isotope Network, a group of nine sites located around the Arctic Basin that measure water vapor isotopes in real time to track changes in the Pan-Arctic hydroclimate.
