GeoBasis Disko - Hydrology - RE-Multisensor_10min

Automatic monitoring of river water properties (water level, pH, conductivity, temperature and turbidity) in Røde Elv (RE) has been carried out at the present position (RE-436-2: 69.25362 N, -53.49823 W) since 2015. A multisensor (YSI 6820 V2-2) is deployed in the river early in the runoff season a...

A multisensor (YSI 6820 V2-2) is deployed in the river early in the runoff season and removed late in the runoff season. The station is running West Greenland Standard Time (UTC-3). Data was logged for every 10 minutes up to 2017. From 2017 and onwards data was logged for every 15 minutes (see Multisensor_15min). The multisensor had to be shipped back for repair in 2018 and water level and water temperature were measured by a pressure transducer. Please notice: In 2018, the river bed and river banks were covered by snow and ice during the first part of the registrations and as a result the water level is affected until 9 June 2018. Water discharge based on the measured water level are found under Hydrology (WaterDischarge_10min and WaterDischarge 15 min). More data about ri Hydrology:Hydrology GeoBasis Disko:The GeoBasis monitoring programme focuses on selected abiotic characteristics in order to describe the state of Greenlandic terrestrial environments and their potential feedback effects in a changing climate. Monitored plot data is up-scaled to a landscape level and is used to improve ecosystem models to be able to quantify these feedback mechanisms. The GeoBasis programme provides an active response to recommendations in international assessments such as ACIA and SWIPA; and is continuously being adapted based on AMAP and other international founded recommendations. Furthermore, the GeoBasis programme is directly involved in several international networks and research projects (e.g. the Circumpolar Active Layer Monitoring (CALM) programme, the Nordic Centre of Excellence DEFROST, the Danish Centre of Excellence CENPERM, the EU-projects PAGE21 and INTERACT, and the Arctic Research Centre at Aarhus University).
