At the 73rd Statutory Meeting of lCES in 1985, it was decided that the Working Group on Assessment of Demersal Stocks in the Baltic should meet at ICES headquarters from 14-23 April 1986 to:i) compile fishing effort and catch-per-unit-effort data for possible use in assessments;ii) assess the status of and provide catch options for cod stocks in the Baltic inside safe biological limits for 1987;iii) estimate the distribution of stocks and the distribution of fishing effort within and between the fishing zones of the member countries;iv) compile available data on stocks of turbot and brill;v) summarise all available data on the selection factor for cod and recommended minimum mesh sizes with corresponding minimum fish lengths. ...
