In the Baltic (the sea area covered by the Baltic Fishery Convention), there are two main stocks of cod: the Baltic cod (Gadus morhua callarias L.), which is found frequently east of 14°30 l E (west of Bornholm) up to the northern part of the Bothnian Sea (occasionally further north), and the Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua morhua L.), distributed mainly to the west of 14°30 l E. The border between the two stocks is a rather blurred one due to fluctuations in the relative proportions of the stocks and to different hydrographical situations. ...
