Data for: Excess methane in Greenland ice cores associated with high dust concentrations

Results for the measurement of CH4 and the release/production of CH4 from ice core samples used in Lee et al (2018). Two data files are provided: "XS_CH4_20171202.txt" - New measurements of CH4 and excess CH4. Samples are from the GISP2 and NEEM ice cores from Greenland and the WAIS Divide...

Samples are from the GISP2 and NEEM ice cores from Greenland and the WAIS Divide and South Pole (SPICE) ice cores from Antarctica. Data include the primary CH4 concentration measurement (ppb), CH4 concentration after the second melt-refreeze extraction (ppb), the change in concentration (ppb), and the estimated release/production of CH4 during the second melt-refreeze (moles). "GISP2_data.xlsx" - Previously unpublished measurements of CH4 from the GISP2 ice core used in Fig 1 and 2. Age of CH4 samples corresponds to 35-50 ka on the GICC05_modelext gas chronology (Rasmussen et al, 2014). Measurements were made at Oregon State University and at Washington State University - Vancouver. Citation: Lee J. E., Edwards J. S., Schmitt J., Brook E. J., Bock M., Fischer H.
