Fig4_Arctic_storm_counts.txt - describes the monthly frequency of storms entering the Arctic (>=65N) from 1948-2020; 6-hourly SLP fields from NCEP/NCAR reanalysis are fed into the cyclone tracker described in Zhang et al (2004) to derive cyclone counts that are then binned to the monthly scale. Data are normalized and plotted in Figure 4. Fig4_W_Arctic_storm_counts.txt - describes the monthly frequency of storms entering the West Arctic region (70-85N, 120-180W) from 1948-2020; 6-hourly SLP fields from NCEP/NCAR reanalysis are fed into the cyclone tracker described in Zhang et al (2004) to derive cyclone counts that are then binned to the monthly scale.
