Policymakers and policy influencers from the Northwest Territories (NWT) in Canada were recruited to participate in a study on reducing gender inequity in policymaking. Participants were invited to attend a briefing session on gender impacts of policy making and they were asked to sign a public pledge at the end of the briefing. Participants were randomly assigned to one of two groups (treatment and control); the treatment group received an email invitation that contained personal stories highlighting the gendered impacts of policy, while the control group received an invitation without stories. The briefing session presented information on gender mainstreaming.
