Wind vector measurements with the unmanned research aircraft ALADINA in Ny-Alesund, Svalbard, during April and May 2018 ...

The data set provides measurements of wind direction, wind speed, and vertical wind based on the unmanned research aircraft ALADINA (Application of Light-weight Aircraft for Detecting IN-situ Aerosol) that was used for a field application in Ny-Ålesund, Spitsbergen, between 24 April and 25 May 2018....

Measurements are provided with a data rate of 100 Hz, which allows processing the data for e.g. turbulence properties. As the quality of wind measurements was deteriorated during flight manoeuvres, wind measurements during unsteady flight states are not contained in the data set, and the data user will need to handle these data gaps within the measurements.
