The buoy was deployed at 68.57°S; 77.93°E, ~1.5 km northwest of Australian Station Davis with initial thicknesses of snow and ice of 0.01 and 0.84 m, respectively, on 22 May 2018. The thermistor chain was 5 m long and included 240 sensors with a regular spacing of 2cm.
