The core is situated in the western Pacific sector of the Southern Ocean, on the southwestern side of the Macquarie Ridge. The radiocarbon and d18O data were used to construct the TAN1302-96 age model, which suggests the core extends back to at least 140 ka, covering a full glacial-interglacial cycle. Diatoms were sampled every 3-4 cm throughout the core, and wSIC and sSST estimates were produced using the Modern Analogue Technique (MAT).
