The data contain time series of snow specific surface area (SSA) retrieved from spectral surface albedo and reflectance measurements of different remote sensing instruments at Kohnen research station (Antarctica, 75° 0' S, 0° 4' E, 2892 m above sea level) operated by the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) between 10 December 2013 and 31 January 2014.
