Project: 2/89-91 - Generalization of Results Obtained from Parametric and Important Survey Holes Drilled on the Shelf of the Barents and Kara Seas.The hole was drilled within the Kurentsovskaya area in the southern part of the Barents Sea near the flange part of a tectonic depression.Reasons for drilling:1. Specification of the geological structure of the area and obtaining data for stratification of the geological section and its allocation with reflecting seismic horizons;2. Study of properties, composition and lithologic-facial features of sedimentary rocks;3. Study of stratal waters.Technical results:The hole was drilled from 01.07.1985 till 24.12.1985. It has penetrated the section up to 3232 m and stopped in Middle Triassic deposits. 301 samples were collected from 1759 m to 3232 m.Scientific results:1. Within the studied geological section a detailed (series, stages, strata, bands) lithologic and stratigraphic sequence of sedimentary rocks (based on microfauna, spora and pollen spectra, bivalve ...
