Summary: | This data set was acquired with the LDEO Portable HiRes Multi-Channel Seismic during R/V Cape Hatteras expedition CH0698 conducted in 1998 (Chief Scientist: Dr. Gregory Mountain). A joint project between LDEO and Rutgers University, this project was a detailed, high resolution seismic study of the New Jersey margin. The cruise served as a site survey for IODP Expedition 313. The project had a series of objectives, including seismically tying land drilling to offshore work; mapping spatial variability in imaged Tertiary sediments; examining sea-level fluctuation in seismic data; and surveying shallow water sites for potential future drilling. Data were acquired as part of the project: High-Resolution Nested Imaging of Nearshore Sequences, New Jersey Inner Continental Shelf: Linking Onshore and Offshore Sea-Level Studies, and funding was provided by NSF grant: OCE97-12191. |
