This database is the result of an international collaboration effort to collect specimens of the Harpagifer genus throughout its geographical distribution in the Southern Ocean. More than 40 collection locations are incorporated along 3 biogeographic macro-zones (southern South America, sub-Antarctic Islands and Antarctica). Records are individualized by specimen, comprising more than 850 animals corresponding to 8 nominal species of the Harpagifer genus in the Southern Ocean.
