This collection is a catalogue of the otolith part of the CBMR (ICM-CSIC) and associated to the data base AFORO. The database is regularly updated and at present (2023) it contains a total of 7905 high resolution images corresponding to 2716 species from 274 families at the CBMR of the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC) from worldwide, especially in Mediterranean, Canary Islands, Antarctic and Namibian waters. Also, AFORO shows images from diverse atlases of otoliths (Rivaton & Bourret 1999; Leopold, van Damme, Philippart & Winter 2001; Campana 2004; Tuset, Lombarte & Assis 2008; Lin & Chang 201; Sadighzadeh, Tuset, Dadpour, Otero-Ferrer, Lombarte 2012; Volpedo, Thompson & Avigliano 2017).
