Summary: | The point set contains data on the distribution of Cypripedium guttatum Sw. (Orchidaceae) in the Komi Republic. C. guttatum is the most widely distributed slipper orchid and the only species present in both the Old and the New World. It ranges from easternmost Europe (Urals) across Siberia to Sakhalin, north-east China, Korea, Japan, and on to north-west America; it is also present in India, Nepal, Bhutan and south-west China (Sichuan, Tibet and Yunnan) (Cox et al., 1997; Cribb, 1997). The Komi Republic presents its north-western distribution limit. This calciphilous plant grows in coniferous and mixed forests, often in boggy forests, in lowland and transitory bogs, on forested rocks and slide lime rocks (Teteryuk, Kirillova, 2011). Flowering is in June. Fruiting is in July-August. The species is characterized by vegetative and seed reproduction.
