Summary:Milestone Environmental Contracting (Milestone) was engaged by Parsons Corporation (Parsons) to construct cover system field trials for the Landform, Cover, and Revegetation Pilot (LCRP) of the Faro Mine Remediation Project (FMRP). Okane Consultants and SRK Consulting performed engineering designs and field oversight for the construction of the LCRP on behalf of AECOM and the Government of Canada. The LCRP comprised two primary areas. The first area (Mine Area) involved construction of cover system field trial panels for varying depths and placement methodologies by loading, hauling, and placing borrow materials on previously graded waste rock landforms to assess cover system material, revegetation options, and implementation methods. The second area (Tailings Area) involved the placement of geotechnical trial fills on the tailings to test field-scale performance.
