Baltic Sea salinity is characterised by a pronounced multidecadal variability, with a period of about 30 years. The authors propose that these fluctuations are caused by the combination of the Atlantic Multidecadal Variability and the North Atlantic Oscillation. A positive feedback mechanism amplifies the salinity variations. The datasets are sorted according to the figures showing the analysis results and summarised in the README.pdf file. ...
