The theoretical lens of Tribal Critical Race Theory (TribCrit) underpinned this study. Survey and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 education directors in Alberta representing 34 First Nations. This study also found that the processes and procedures put in place, for newly hired education directors to work with, varied between First Nations and were deemed insufficient.
