Description
Summary:Six months after Bill C-92 passed in Parliament and mere weeks before the new law comes into force on January 1, 2020, Québec initiated a reference before its Court of Appeal to challenge the constitutionality of An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families, SC 2019, c 24. We believe the reference is unlikely to succeed in quashing the Act but certain to cause delay.
