Summary:Serpentinite is a rock whose weathering results in shallow and drying soils with a high content of magnesium and calcium. Mnichov serpentinites represent the greatest serpentinite area in the Czech Republic. For its extreme conditions some specific plant species are typical, such as Cerastium alsinifolium, Galium sudeticum or the fern species Asplenium adulterinum and A. cuneifolium.
