Vliv borovice kleče na bezobratlé Hrubého Jeseníku

Fauna bezobratlých na hřebenových partiích Hrubého Jeseníku je v evropském měřítku jedinečná. Žijí zde druhy tundrové z dalekého severu, alpínské z horských oblastí Alp a Karpat a také druhy endemické. Arkto-alpínská fauna zde jako relikt doby ledové přežila mimo jiné i proto, že se do Hrubého Jeseníku v době poledové nerozšířila borovice kleč (Pinus mugo). Koncem 19. století byla ale borovice kleč vysazována proti sesuvům lavin. Rozšíření kleče a zarůstání bezlesých porostů v současnosti vážně ohrožuje reliktní a endemické druhy bezobratlých. Invertebrate fauna on Hrubý Jeseník mountain ridges (in North Moravia) is unique throughout Europe. The area is inhabited by high Arctic tundra species, Alpine species from the mountainous areas of the Alps and Carpathian species as well as endemic ones. Arctic-alpine fauna has survived as glacial relicts there because, among other things, the mountains were not settled by the Mugo Pine or Swiss Mountain Pine (Pinus mugo) in the postglacial period. In the late 19th century, the Mugo Pine was planted against snow slides there. The spread of Mugo Pine and its overgrowth of treeless areas currently poses a serious threat to relict and endemic invertebrate species.
