Therefore cyanobacteria and algae living in such types of biotops must have been adapted on it. We studied the diversity and abundance of cyanobacteri a and algae from 7 samples in Petuniabukta (Arctic archipelago Svalbard) originating from different environments (stream, lake, polar meadow). Totally we identified 48 taxa of cyanobacteria and algae and our work shows, that diversity of oxyphototrophs in the streams is lower than diversity in the lakes and polar meadows. This can be caused by their lower stability and lower circulation of nutrients.
