| Summary: | Winter rape stands are important habitat for the common vole (Microtus arvalis). In autumn the common vole is dominant here (D=67%) and reproduce here (17% of population). This species is in the small mammal community in winter rape dominant also in early spring (D=87%) and its reproduction starts here very early: under suitable meteorological conditions in March 44% of the population of common vole reproduce. Analyses of the spring and autumn diet of M. arvalis in winter rape have shown that green leaves of this species form the dominant component of its diet at this time. In time or ripening of rape the population abundance of the common vole decreases as green food on the ground level for this species decreases too. After the harvest of winter rape, when seed shedding grow and plenty of weed-seed species are at disposal, common vole again utilize these plots until the ploughing. [Agromanuál.
