Статья посвящена изучению роли геологов Сургутской нефтеразведки в развитии здравоохранения Сургутского и Ларь-якского (Нижневартовского) районов Ханты-Мансийского национального округа в 1957-1965 гг. Авторы пришли к выводу, что до прибытия геологов в Сургут медицинское обслуживание находилось на низком уровне. Деятельность геологоразведчиков, направленная на улучшение местного здравоохранения, способствовала качественным изменениям в отрасли. Расширилась сеть лечебных учреждений, появилась медицинская техника, улучшилась ситуация по ряду заболеваний. Многие начинания шли от геологов «снизу», задолго до начала активной деятельности государственных структур в этом регионе. Повышение качества медицинского обслуживания способствовало сохранению работоспособности ценных кадров в системе геологии. Это повышало результативность геологопоисковых работ в регионе были открыты месторождения нефти. The article studies the role of geologists of the Surgut oil exploration in the development of health of Surgut and Lariak (Nizhnevartovsk) Khanty-Mansi national districts in 1957-1965. The article explains the role and contribution of geological parties in the development of local infrastructure in the settlements, great attention is paid to the organization of medical care, the level of which influenced the preservation of valuable human resources in geology. The authors come to a conclusion that before the arrival of geologists in Surgut, the development of medicine in the district was low. Most local health facilities did not meet minimum health requirements and needed major repairs. There was a shortage of necessary medical specialists, which, against the background of increasing population, led to a permanent queue. In view of this, local authorities were forced to allow physicians to combine the functions of different specialists. Quite often there were problems with the supply of medicines and equipment. Geologists'' activities directed at improving the health of the population, promoted qualitative change in the branch. In addition to creating their own obstetric units in the field conducting prospecting, exploration geologists tried to improve the existing medical infrastructure in the settlements. Patient care institutions were broadened, medical equipment appeared, situation in quite a number of diseases was improved. Thanks to geologists, the problem of water supply was solved, there were artesian wells that contributed to the reduction of gastrointestinal diseases. In urban hospitals there appeared electric lighting. Repeated requests of geologists resulted in an ambulance car in Surgut, there opened an emergency medical care. Geologists'' initiative helped to organize permanent air ambulance and inter-district water boats serving workers at the place of production and the local population. This made it possible to deliver critically ill people to district center hospitals in the shortest time. In the villages, explorers had a separate building for a medical station with rooms of various medical profiles. This greatly facilitated necessary medical care to all in need in one place. Many initiatives came from ordinary geologists, "from below" well in advance of similar activities of the state structures in this region. Improving of medical care favored the efficiency of valuable workers in geology. This raised effectiveness of geological exploration in the district where oil fields were discovered.
