Description
Summary:The confinition of three species of phytophylous chironomids E. tendens, G. glaucus, G. mancunianus to the substrates was researched, and the relative abun-dance in different vegetable substrates (Sagittaria sagittifolia, Sparganum erec-tum, Typha angustifolia, Butomus umbellatus) was ascertained for this species. G. glaucus larvae prefer half-decomposed plant tissues and inhabit alive macrophyte tissues. E. tendens and G. mancunianus larvae prefer to mine alive macrophyte tis-sues, but the reliable difference of their parts in the four observed substrates was not found.
