| Summary: | By the midXIXth century roe deer was an extremely rare species in the territory of Yakutia. The trend to the expansion of this species’ area in Yakutia became evident since the 1930s. Just that period should be considered the beginning of roe deer expansion from south and southeast of Yakutia to central regions of the Republic. The current area of roe deer in Yakutia involves South (Olyekminsk Region), SouthEastern (UstMaya Region), Western (regions near the Middle Vilyui River) and Central Yakutia. In Central Yuakutia at present the main population of roe deer in the Republic is registered. |
