Настоящая статья рассматривается авторами как краткое послесловие к книге «Берингия: история и эволюция», изданной в 1995 году Московским издательством «Наука». В то время за недостатком времени, а главное, из-за дефицита денежных средств и в силу определённых разногласий с издательством в монографию не вошла значительная часть очень важного научного материала, не были откорректированы и многочисленные технические ошибки, допущенные в издательстве при подготовке книги. Теперь, спустя почти 20 лет, авторы проясняют свою точку зрения, с учётом новых материалов вносят коррективы в изложенное ими ранее понимание процессов, происходящих на территории «Берингии». Авторы надеются, что будут появляться новые книги о территории Берингии, не только в России, США, но и в других странах. Этот мало известный район требует обстоятельного исследования и сулит новые открытия и сенсации. Предметом рассмотрения и анализа в статье является растительность обеих современных частей бывшей территории Берингии – Чукотки и Арктической Аляски. Основанием для их исследования является то, что эти территории очень тесно связаны генетически и флористически. The article is considered by the authors as a short epilogue to the book “Beringia: History and Evolution”, published in 1995 by the Moscow publishing house “Nauka”. At that time for the lack of time, and mainly because of the shortage of funds and certain disagreements with the publishing house the monograph has not include considerable part of very important scientific material, the numerous technical errors made in publishing house while preparing the book have not been corrected also. Now, nearly 20 years later, the authors clarify their point of view, make adjustments to the understanding of the processes occurring in the territory of “Beringia” stated by them earlier, taking into account the new materials. The authors hope that there will be new books on the Beringia’s territory, not only in Russia and the USA, but also in other countries. This little known area requires the detailed research and promises new discoveries and sensations. The subject of consideration and analysis in the article is the vegetation of both modern parts of the former territory of Beringia – Chukotka and Arctic Alaska. The basis for their research is that these areas are very closely related genetically and floristic.
