| Summary: | In this article the communicative aspect of trade/exchange/gift exchange in traditional culture of Chukotka Native peoples is considered on the basis of ethnographical materials. Trade is considered as the culture activity. Social and cultural significance of exchange is related to possibilities of spatial communication of people and development of their means of traveling. Besides, in this article there is a characterization of exchange processes as interpersonal communication, and there is a reconstruction of trade behavior of the Chukchi, Eskimo and Yukagir. |
