Summary:Dynamics of birds communities of peat landscapes in the Central and Northern parts of European Russia (basically Tver and Arkhangelsk Regions) was studied in the period of 1980-2005. The process of emergence and spread of individual species about the bogs from the first casual nesting to the widespread settling about the peat bogs has been traced. For the last 25 years at least 15 new species of birds have been registered on various bogs of Central Russia. The bogs take up about 5% of the territory in Central Russia and play a role of an active filter for regional fauna.
