The article is devoted to the opportunities and prospects of studying the outlook and everyday life of Old Believers -inhabitants of taiga monasteries. The application of the theoretical and practical achievements of sociology of ordinariness helps to look at many aspects of the contemporary Old Believers everyday life and behavior that have not been analyzed by the traditional archeographic research for a long time.
