Summary:The article studies functional peculiarities of the verb to go in Arkhangelsk dialects. Dialectical material is confronted with the material that is presented in the dictionaries of literary language in reference to the indicated verb. On the basis of the comparative analysis the author comes to the conclusion that the verb to go in dialects and in literary language presents different lexemes with unique distinctive features. 1. Semantic structure of the verb includes the meaning that indicated m the dialects and in the literary language it also includes a large a number of dialectal meanings. 2. Bearing the same meaning as in literary language, dialects may contain: a. the meaning can be winder b. this or that aspect of meaning registered in literary language is not functional с. different and as a rule wider collocability d. different type of grammatical-morphological governing e. the transitive verb becomes intransitive in literary language f. absence of stylistic features peculiar to the lexeme in the literary language.
