Summary:Territorial and ethnic features of the prevalence of primary liver cancer in the republic of Sakha have been studied. The republic has been shown to be a high-risk area for primary liver cancer, which is the 2-nd most common form of cancer in males and the 3-rd most common form of cancer in females among all digestive system malignancies. The standard liver cancer incidence rates are 5 times higher than the average incidence rates in Russia. Primary liver cancer is more oftern registered in the age group of 70 years and more. Incidence rates are mainly raised due to indigenous and rural populations. The liver cancer incidence rates show a tendency to stabilization all over the republic.
