For St.-Petersburg the ecological problems are urgent. As well as for the majority of megalopolises they have the features and specificity of the decision. The understanding that the world is on a threshold of global ecological accident, is sharp has raised the question about preparation of the experts ecologists, which could correctly estimate and predict negative consequences of intensive technical activity of the man for various ecosystems. First of all was necessary for its decision development of the concept of ecological education, as the formation at the experts of all completeness of ecological thinking allowing to solve of a complex problem is necessary. In framework of Northern Forum program St.-Petersburg takes part in ecological education development on the North, creation of handbook on ecology in Arctic.
