ArcRisk is short for Arctic Health Risks: Impacts on health in the Arctic and Europe owing to climate induced changes in contaminant cycling. The project officially started in June 2009 with the ArcRisk consortium partners. With 21 partners from twelve countries, coordination of this multi-disciplinary project is a major undertaking in itself; the responsibility of the Secretariat of the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP), together with the Work Package leads. ArcRisk is investigating the influence of climate change on contaminant transport, fate and exposure, and resulting risks to human populations in the Arctic and selected areas of Europe.
