[EN] The occurrence and weight of food items in the stomacs of 2251 Phycis blelnnoides and 395 Antonogadus megalokynodon caught in the western Mediterranean Sea is described. The stomach contents consisted of Decapoda (Alpheus glaber, Calocaris macandreae, etc.), Amphipoda, Mysidacea, others Crustacea, Polychaeta and Pisces. Pisces and Decapoda occurring most frecuently in the largest specimens of P. blelnnoides. The increase in the length of prey with fish size was observed for this species. Benthic prey were found by sight being detected by taste buds on the trailing barbels and pelvic fin rays.
