CHALLENGE-2 is the second and last campaign of the CHALLENGE project (Human pressures and natural hazards: challenges for the Antarctic marine benthos) which aims to experimentally analyze and describe the human pressures and natural hazards that challenge the Antarctic marine benthos, based on the background of the team's previous projects in this region. Changes in biodiversity will be assessed using different methodologies, with special emphasis on those poor-known habitats, across a latitudinal gradient from Rothera Island to South Orkney Islands, sampling in both in pristine and more polluted areas (tourist areas, with the presence of stations, etc.).
