The paper ponders what lies in store for two young Gimuy Walubara Yidinji girls based on two scenarios posed in a Lowitja Institute 2014 research report, The Shape of Things to Come. The contrasting scenarios outline how their lives might look by the time they reach the age of 29 in 2030. Henrietta looks back on her own experiences and the strong women who influenced her. Drawing on her more recent UN and Australian experiences, she alludes to issues of race and gender for Indigenous women wanting to reach the top in their chosen careers.
