The house has a doorway to the right and windows framed with louvered shutters. Two of the people are apparently Rev. and Mrs. Parker, identified as friends of Captain George Comer of East Haddam. Infrastructure Lifestyle Title supplied by cataloger. On rear: "Parsonage/ Little Haddam/ Rev. & Mrs. Parker". Captain George Comer (1858-1937) was a sealer and whaling captain from East Haddam. He went to sea while still in his teens and was later master of vessels from both New London and New Bedford, and participated in voyages involved in polar expeditions. Comer was noted for his studies of Arctic peoples and their environment. On mount, 5 5/8 x 6 1/2 in.
