Charles Q. Eldredge (born 1845) was an Old Mystic native who in 1917 founded a private museum of curiosities that was located on the Groton side of the Mystic River in the Old Mystic area. The whaling schooner Era was captained by John O. Spicer of Mystic. Postcard made by E.C. Kropp Co., Milwaukee, Wisc., #23065. On reverse is handwritten note dated Feb. 3, 1925, from Eldredge to Asheville Post Card Co., Asheville, NC; rubberstamped "NEW P. O. ADDRESS,/ MYSTIC, CONN./ R.F.D."
