International audience The weathered landscape of high latitude regions has long been used empirically as a basis for establishing a general hierarchy between weathering processes. We discuss the question of weathering process hierarchies in the observed landscape based on the criteria of lithological variation and topographical situation. Local climatic conditions and the interference of geological structure are also considered. La lecture du paysage météorique des hautes latitudes a longtemps été la clef de l'établissement empirique d'une hiérarchie des processus de dégradation du substratum. À travers des faciès lithologiques divers, dans des situations variées, nous aborderons la question de la variabilité des hiérarchies de processus s'exprimant visiblement en surface, variabilité qui découle tant des conditions climatiques locales que des réponses structurales spécifiques
