Some ocean sediment records in the subantarctic southern Indian Ocean show a cold reversal, similar to Antarctic records (7 ). Recent high-resolution isotopic records obtained on East Antarctic cores both from a near-coastal site at Taylor Dome (8) and from inland at the Dome Concordia site (9), confirm that the overall deglacial pattern is asynchronous between Greenland and Antarctica.
