While alongside in Dampier the offshore support vessel, Southern Ocean, suffered a fire on #1 main engine. The ignition of the fuel was witnessed by two ship's engineers who immediately shut down the engine and evacuated the space. The fixed fire fighting system, water spray, was activated and the fire was extinguished. No one was injured and there was moderate localised damage.
