Description
Summary:For several decades, central California has witnessed a debate about the potential effects of certain human activities on Drake’s Estero in Point Reyes National Seashore, which is managed by the U.S. National Park Service. In many respects, this debate has focused on two main questions: (1) Do oyster farming and other human activities have potentially significant effects on the Drake’s Estero harbor seal population and (2) Should aquaculture be allowed in a designated wilderness area. The first of these questions should be addressed through scientific investigation, whereas the second question is a matter of policy beyond the scope of this review.
