Exposure to PBDEs has been associated with a variety of biological effects (e.g., thyroid disruption, neurobehavioral effects) in laboratory animals (de Wit, 2002) but currently no threshold levels for PBDEs have been estab-lished for toxicological effects in marine mammals.
