General Liner Model (GLM) was applied to generate the standardized catch per unit of effort (CPUE) of South Atlantic albacore, which was caught by Taiwanese longliners from 1968 to1999. The selections of the subareas were followed by Wu and Yeh (2000). Because the results of GLM showed that some interaction terms, which were relating to year, were significantly. The annual abundance indices were calculated by the expected CPUE, which was weighted by the size of subarea as ICCAT (1996) suggested. The standardized CPUE series showed a continuous decrease from 1977 to 1990, then increasing till 1997, and leveled off onward. RÉSUMÉ Le modèle linéaire généralisé (GLM) a été appliqué pour obtenir la prise par unité d=effort (CPUE) standardisée du germon de l=Atlantique sud qui a été capturé par les palangriers du Taïpei chinois de 1968 à 1999.
