It seems he first came here after he had been on the continent for a considerable time because climatic condi-tions of the Wisconsin Glacial Period persisted longer in the valley than on the plains and conditions would not have been favorable for man or animals. But we do know he was here since we find nonperishable artifacts made of stone.
